Al-Shabab FC unveils Bubacarr Steve Trawally on a €5M record signing.

Bubacarr Trawally have completed his move from Vejle Boldklubb to Riyadh based club Al Shabab on a three and a half years contract of €5M. The unveiling happened on Tuesday , 5th February after the club announced the capture of the Gambian international over the weekend. Steve, who was on loan to Guizhou Hengfeng, scored 11 goals in 31 games last season in the Chinese Super league. Steve's best stint in China was with Yanbian Funde where he scored 18 goals in 28 matches and won two MVP awards.

The former Real de Banjul forward has six caps for the scorpions of The Gambia since making his debut in 2015. The former MVP is Yanbian Funde's record goalscorer and has scored two hattricks against Beijing Guoan, Winning Sports Personality of the Year, fans foreign based player of the year and Sports journalist association foreign based athlete of the year in 2017.

As a midfielder Steve scored 27 goals in four seasons with Real de banjul, won two league titles and one FA cup coupled with votes as the best local based athlete. He also represented the Gambia in the African football dream team with Real de Banjul.

Bubacarr Trawally, who was closed to signing for Celtic last summer is known for scoring incredible goals, with his Rabona goal against Guangzhou R&F, the most talk about. Danish Champions Midtjylland and Belgium Gent were outbid by the White Lions as they plan to lunch a surge for the championship. Al Shabab currently sits on third position with 34 points from 18 games.

Steve becomes the third most expensive Gambian player after his £5m move joining record holders like Bubacarr Sanneh (Anderlecht) and Omar Colley (Sampdoria).

Steve who can play on both wings has a very good pace and very quick with his feet. He is comfortable with his head and a dead ball specialist (accurate with penalties and freekicks).

Steve, who is a household name both in the Gambia and China wouldn't find it difficult to settle in Riyadh. The 24-year old player is very charismatic and has joined other Gambian international players like Pa Modou Jagne, Ken Mansally and Ebrima Sohna in giving back to their community.

Steve Moved to China, when Chinese football revolution began, became among the second generation to bolster Chinese football to the wider world. A status that earned him respect and household name within players, coaches and fans while he is a local hero in Yanbian.

"Thanks for ALL your messages, finally glad to announce that I’m a player of Al-Shabab Riyadh FC!!🧡🖤🧡🖤

I’m really happy to be joining Al-Shabab Football Club; looking forward to meeting up with the whole squad and getting to work straight away with the team in preparation for some important fixtures and help the TEAM in achieving its ambitions🙏🏾

It’s a wonderful challenge for me and I’m keen to bring my qualities to Al-Shabab FC and the Saudi Pro League during the next phase of my career.

I want to begin this new chapter with BISMILLAH and InshAllah, end it with ALHAMDULILLAH
