Ali Sowe signs a three years contract with CSKA Sofia

Ali Sowe signs a three years contract with CSKA Sofia

Gambian international Ali Sowe has permanently moved to the Bulgarian side Cska Sofia bringing an end to a nine loan spell. Ali, who was on contract with Chievo Verona till June 2019, made his loan move to a permanent deal with the Reds on Wednesday, 29th January 2019.

The former Gamtel talisman’s most successful loan was with an Albanian side Skënderbeu where he scored 21 goals in 33 league matches and ended up winning both the league and league cup in 2017/2018.

"I had very interested offers. All started in June. Offers from Saudi Arabia, Europe, Egypt and China. I felt it wasn't the right time to leave Europe. Chievo had their plans. They didn't come to terms with so many clubs from Europe, that's why I haven't moved in the summer.

With CSKA Sofia I feel more of home. They have shown interest in working with me. That's why I took this decision to start this adventure with them. That's what motivates me.

First half season didn't went as I wanted. I think I needed time more to be part of the group. To know how things are. I had just moved there, and things wouldn't just come easy.

This winter break has made me have bond with players and coaches”.
